Theme: What Makes a “Good Interpreter” in Deaf People’s Eyes?

Sign language interpreting services serve as vital bridges for communication between Deaf people and society. So, what makes a "good interpreter" in Deaf people's eyes?

We have specially invited three Deaf friends from different generations — elderly, middle-aged, and young — to share their heartfelt perspectives:

👵🏻👴🏻 Elderly Deaf people's experiences and views on using interpreting services

🎳🏊🏻‍♀️ Sharing experiences of using interpreting services during sporting activities

📚🎭 Challenges and difficulties in accessing interpreting services due to limited resources in education or artistic fields

From daily life and learning to leisure pursuits, interpreting services accompany Deaf people through various stages. Through their sharing, we gain deeper insight into Deaf people's expectations for interpreting quality, considering together what respect and trust ideal interpreting services should offer Deaf people, and asking: what truly defines a “good interpreter”?

We cordially invite friends from all walks of life, sign language users, and sign language interpreting colleagues to participate, allowing us to listen to the voices within from the perspective of Deaf people.
